In honor of the upcoming exhibit "Pride and Passion: The African-American Baseball Experience", Rolling Hills Library is sponsoring an essay contest for teens in 6th through 12th grade. Students must explain the beginning of the Negro Baseball Leagues and why they ended in 400-500 words. Entries must be submitted by May 2nd and prizes will be awarded May 17th.
The grand prize is a VIP tour of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, MO. with transportation and lunch provided. Good luck and we'll be looking forward to reading your essays!
